Hosts with culinary flair sought for Kongens Køkken at Marienlyst Castle
- Full-time, part-time, or student job
Do you want to help create great guest experiences at Kongens Køkken, where we work across cafe and kitchen?
Kongens Køkken will be a vibrant gathering point at the castle, where guests can enjoy breakfast, brunch, and lunch – a good cup of coffee, homemade cake, a tapas board, and a glass of wine – and where we also prepare food for meetings, events, and parties.
We work closely together in a small team where everyone helps each other across hosting and kitchen duties.
We value a good atmosphere in the kitchen, cooperation, and job satisfaction – even when the pace is high.
About the job
As an employee at Kongens Køkken, you will be one of the first faces our guests meet when they visit the castle and the exhibition.
The work includes, among other things:
- serving and attending to guests in the cafe
- serving at meetings, conferences, and events
- contact with guests from both Denmark and abroad
- preparation and lighter tasks in the kitchen
Since we also have international guests, it is a requirement that you speak English as a minimum.
Here, we work across the cafe and kitchen – therefore, we are looking for hosts who also enjoy working with food.
After training, you must be able to both prepare the cafe's dishes, plate, and handle the general tasks in the kitchen on a daily basis – while also serving our guests.
Here, we work as one cohesive team, where we help each other across hosting and kitchen duties.
We are looking for you who
- are smiling and service-minded
- enjoy interacting with guests
- work systematically and maintain an overview
- thrive in a fast-paced environment with many different tasks
- contribute to a good working environment and a positive tone
- have an interest in food and, after training, also wish to be able to prepare and plate the cafe's dishes
Experience from a cafe, restaurant, or service industry is an advantage – but the most important thing is your attitude and commitment.
We offer
- a workplace in the historic and beautiful surroundings of Marienlyst Castle
- a small team with good energy and cooperation
- the opportunity to learn about both cafe, service, and kitchen operations
- work primarily during the day from 8 AM to 3 PM (including weekends)
- some evening shifts periodically, typically until approx. 8 PM
- the positions can be full-time, part-time, or hourly paid – also as a student job
- salary according to qualifications
Start April/May/June.

__________
Marienlyst Castle has roots dating back to the 1500s, when Frederick II established the site as a pleasure retreat near Kronborg. The current castle was built in 1759–63 by the French court architect Nicolas-Henri Jardin.
After a careful renovation, the castle will reopen in the spring of 2026 as a vibrant place with Kongens Køkken, the exhibition Paradise for All Times, and a varied program of events.
