Marienlyst Castle is a historic site in motion.
After an extensive renovation, we are opening the doors to exhibitions, events, garden activities, and social initiatives – and we need engaged people around us.

As a volunteer, you become part of the Community around Marienlyst Castle.
Here you contribute your time, experience, ideas, and commitment, helping to create presence, hospitality, and quality for the castle's guests.

There is room for both hands and minds.
For those who want to get practical.
For those who want to communicate, organize, develop, or build relationships.

You choose how much and how you wish to engage.
When registering, simply indicate your interest – there is no obligation initially.

Later, we may establish smaller groups.

When you sign up, you can select the areas you find relevant and add them to your “cart.” Your registration is considered an expression of interest – not a binding commitment.

We will then contact you with further information about onboarding, meetings, and specific tasks.

Crafts & Caretaker
Small maintenance tasks, simple assembly tasks, and practical tidying.

Garden & Landscape
Contribute to the care and development of the romantic garden, collaborate with Nationalpark Kongernes Nordsjælland and Natur 360, seed collection, smaller kitchen gardens, and pot planting.

Event & Hospitality
Setup, guest service, ticket scanning, seating, and cleanup at events.

Exhibition Hosts & Communication
Welcome guests, answer questions, and contribute to a calm and safe experience in the exhibitions with respect for artworks and surroundings.

Communication & Marketing
SoMe, website, newsletters, photo/film, graphic design, and PR.

Fundraising & Partnerships
Ambassador role, idea development, lead lists, contact with authorities, and contribution to applications.

Business Mentors & Educators (social initiatives)
Guest lectures, teaching, mentoring programs, and internship opportunities.

Tour Guides & Communication
Storytelling, school programs, and garden walks.

Café Support
Serving food and drinks at larger events.

Archive & History
Research, image archive, and development of narratives for communication.

Children & Families
Family activities, children's hosts at events, holiday activities, treasure hunts, and creative workshops.

Supervision & Security in the Exhibition
Calm presence and supervision, ensuring consideration for artworks, guests, and surroundings.

How it works

All volunteers are invited to an introductory meeting and receive an introduction to the site, tasks, and collaboration.

You will become part of a team with a coordinator from Marienlyst Slots Venner (MSV) and a contact person from the castle, so roles and expectations are clear.

As a volunteer, you will be invited to special events and communal volunteer days, helping to bring life to Marienlyst Castle both in everyday life and at special events.

Upon registration, your name and contact information will be recorded exclusively for internal use within the Community around Marienlyst Castle.
The information will not be shared with third parties.
