Experience Marienlyst Palace after the major restoration

Step inside Marienlyst Palace and experience the king's former pleasure palace, while the rooms are still open and atmospheric after the gentle restoration.

For almost 20 years, the palace has been closed to the public. Now, we are opening the doors and inviting you to a special experience where you can get up close to the history, architecture, and beautiful royal chambers, before upcoming exhibitions and activities fill the rooms.

Move through the King's Chambers and experience the palace's special atmosphere, the view over the Øresund, and the stories of a place that, over time, has hosted royal stays, summer life, and major historical changes.

You will also have the opportunity to experience the result of the extensive restoration, where the ambition has been to gently return the palace to its historical expression with respect for the house's history, details, and special atmosphere.

Marienlyst Palace now provides the setting for a vibrant palace with experiences, community, and activities all year round.

The experience

The historic pleasure palace is intimate and has limited capacity. Therefore, guests are admitted in smaller groups at a time, allowing ample time to move around, experience the rooms, and immerse oneself in the details and atmosphere of the King's Chambers.

Practical information

This is not a traditional guided tour, but a special opportunity to experience the palace from the inside at your own pace, while the rooms are still open after the restoration.

You will be accompanied by a host who will help ensure calm, flow, and space to experience the rooms along the way. The tour lasts approx. 30 minutes, after which you can continue the experience in the King's Kitchen, where you may have booked a table and can enjoy food, coffee, or cake with a view of the Øresund and the palace park.

The tour starts on the 2nd floor with access from the romantic garden via the bridge.

• Unfortunately, the palace does not have an elevator, and the visit involves several stairs. The tour is therefore best suited for guests who are able to walk well.
